Slavoj Žižek at Istanbul Modern!

July 25, 2015

Saturday, 25 July, 18.00

A unique figure in the world of philosophy with his influential works, Slovenian philosopher Slavoj Žižek will be meeting with readers at Istanbul Modern on the occasion of the publication of his new book Less Than Nothing: Hegel and The Shadow of Dialectical Materialism.

A guide for those who want to transform the world as they strive to comprehend it, Žižek adamantly and passionately continues his endeavor through the numerous books he has written since the early 1990s. The articles he wrote on contemporary issues that are characteristically in defense of the public, the conferences he attends across the world and the documentaries that are produced about him strengthen Žižek’s identity as a philosopher rather than overshadow it.

Based on Less Than Nothing, Slavoj Žižek’s talk titled “Radical Politics Today: Teachings of Hegel” awaits the attendance of everyone interested in disciplines such as philosophy, sociology and cultural criticism.

Venue: Istanbul Modern Sculpture Garden

The event is free-of-charge. Simultaneous translation will be provided.
