HOTEL MONTEREY

HOTEL MONTEREY

HOTEL MONTEREY, 1972

Belgium, USA |DCP, Color, 65’| French

One of Chantal’s first works, Hotel Monterey is about a cheap hotel in New York where outcasts and elderly people stay. In the film, Akerman depicts the hotel’s hallway, elevator, doors, windows, and occupants virtually as if painting a tableau in which the audience becomes a part of this unusual place.
