Keep Smiling

Keep Smiling (Gaigimet), 2012

France, Georgia, Luxembourg
| DCP, Color, 90' | Georgian
Director: Rusudan Chkonia

This first feature film by this young Georgian director is about a special beauty contest for mothers who have more than 3 children. The relationships between 10 women, most of them belonging to the lower strata of the society, begin to deteriorate because of the award – an apartment and 25 thousand dollars. And the producers, who want the contest to run smoothly, increasingly put pressure on the women. Set in Tbilisi, this interesting drama in which black comedy and melodrama collide won’t make you miss the critique of modern society in The Hunger Games.
